End of Year Concert

On Sunday 11th December Foden's held their annual Christmas Concert at Sandbach Boys School to a capacity audience which included the band's President Mark Greaves as well as the band's Vice Presidents and special guests. The audience were treated to a variety of Christmas and non Christmas music conducted by the band's guest conductor David Hirst. During the concert it was announced that Soprano Richard Poole and Solo Horn Leslie Howie had recently announced their engagement and were presented with an engagement cake to mark this special occasion!

Attending the concert from Miami was Barry Sullivan, a keen supporter of the band. Barry, a retired Catering Supervisor with Delta Airlines flew to London over the weekend where he attended a concert at the Royal Albert Hall, London before boarding a train to Manchester and then hiring a car so that he could attend his first ever English Brass Band Concert and the first time that he had seen Foden's live.

The concert rounded off a busy and successful year for the band both on the Contest and Concert stage and sees the band on a well earned break until the 5th January.
