Fodens travel to Beccles

On the 20th September Fodens travelled to Beccles (Suffolk) where they performed a concert to a capacity audience in the prestigious St Michaels Church at the request of Elgar Howarth.

The first half of the concert featured a number of 'Serious' pieces including 'In Memoriam RK' composed by Mr Howarth, 'Paganini Variations' and the 'Horovitz Euphonium Concerto' performed by Glyn Williams.

The second half included a number of lighter items and the rarely played cornet solo 'Arizona Belle' by Rimmer which was requested by Mr Howarth and played by Mark Wilkinson.

The concert concluded with Mr Howarth conducting a march specially composed by himself for Fodens entitled 'The Golden Arrow.'

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
