Foden's band are pleased to announce that John Wallace has accepted their invitation to conduct the band at the forthcoming 'Brass in Concert Contest' at the Sage, Gateshead on the 21st November where the band will be aiming to defend their title. John will also conduct Foden's at the Pre Contest Gala concert at the Sage the night prior to the contest.

John needs little introduction due to being the Principal of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) since 2002 during which time it has become the leading Conservatoire in the UK. As well as being a highly respected educator and conductor John is also regarded as one of the worlds leading trumpet players. John’s largest audience was 750,000, 000 when he duetted with Dane Kiri te Kanawa at the Wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer. John was awarded an OBE for services to music in 1995 and is presently Chair of Conservatoires UK.

Speaking about the announcement band chairman John Barber stated 'We are thrilled that Mr Wallace has agreed to conduct the band at the forthcoming concert and contest. John is highly respected in a number of fields across the world and the band are looking forward to working with such a distinguished musician.'

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
