Following the departure of Les Neish Fodens are pleased to announce the signing of Gavin Wyn Saynor on Solo eflat bass

Gavin has previously been a member of Faireys, Leyland and YBS whilst studying at the University of Salford with David King and Andy Duncan. Whilst at YBS he was awarded the 'Best Soloist' in the 2003 European Championships. In 2005 Gavin joined Corys as well as becoming Bass tutor with the NYBBW. Since leaving Corys in 2007 Gavin has been a member of Beaumaris as well as conducting several local bands to success in contests as well as taking Menai Bridge, Llanrug and Deiniolen to the National Finals. He is currently the conductor of Deiniolen Silver Band.

Speaking about his appointment at Fodens Gavin said “I am very excited about joining Fodens. They are a fantastic band and I have always enjoyed being a guest with them. I look forward to joining on a permanent basis and being part of their formidable bass section and line up of  world-class soloists. I would also like to take the opportunity to wish the Beaumaris Band all the best for the future. They are all close friends of mine and I will continue to help them out whenever I can around my Fodens schedule. I look forward to playing with them at the Senior Trophy contest where hopefully I can help them to success”.

Mark Wilkinson commented 'Gavin has deputised with Fodens a number of times over the past year and has fitted in extremely well with the band. We are extremely pleased that Gavin has accepted our invitation to join on Solo Eflat Bass. Gavin is regarded as one of the leading bass players in the country and brings a wealth of experience to the band as well as being a fantastic player and committed bandsman'

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
