On Friday 18th July Foden’s will be teaming up with the Love Music Trust in the Bridgewater Hall to help celebrate another year of high quality music education that has seen over 10,000 young people in Cheshire East engaged through the work of the Trust.

The first concert of the day, at 10.30am, will see just under 1000 children join together to perform in the Love Music Trust Vocal Celebration concert. Following the ‘Singing Playgrounds’ project that has run in 85 Cheshire East schools throughout the year, the performance will see the children accompanied by a 10 piece band and feature some of the many songs the schools have been developing over the past 9 months.

Brass at the Bridgewater is the second stage of the celebration day and begins at 2pm, when the three longest serving members of Foden’s Band will be performing a solo recital. With a combined total of over 60 years occupying the principal chairs, Mark Wilkinson (cornet), Glyn Williams (euphonium) and John Barber (trombone) will give an intimate one hour performance featuring some of the most iconic solo brass repertoire from composers including William Himes, Peter Meechan, Andy Scott and Jan Sandstrom.

The final part of the day is the Love Music Trust Gala Celebration where the winners of the Cheshire East Schools Music Competition will be joined by Foden’s and the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Choir who appeared on BBC1’s 'The Choir: Sing While you Work' programme where the group sang their way to the final. This is the second consecutive year in which the Foden’s Band has supported the Love Music Trust, the organisation that also partners their fantastic Foden’s Youth Band.

Speaking about Foden’s Band involvement with the Love Music Trust Celebration Day and generally working in partnership with the Cheshire East Music Hub, band manager Mark Wilkinson said ‘At Foden’s we have always placed a large emphasis on youth development and we have found that working with our local Music Education Hub is the best ways of doing this. All of us at Foden’s have seen the fantastic work that the Love Music Trust has undertaken in the past two years and the enormous levels of musical engagement they have achieved with the young people of Cheshire East which is something that we’re very proud to be associated with’.

Tickets for the concerts can be obtained through the Bridgewater Hall www.bridgewater-hall.co.uk or 0844 907 9000.
