michael bachFoden's are pleased to announce that Michael Bach will lead them at the forthcoming British Open in September.

Michael has been the conductor of Bürgermusik Lucerne since 2009 during which time the band have enjoyed numerous contest success including victory at the European in 2014. This victory was the first for a Swiss Band with Michael being the youngest conductor to win this contest. Michael was the Professional Conductor of Leyland between 2012-2015 when he decided to take time off "non-swiss banding" in order to concentrate on his young family.

Speaking about the invitation from Foden's Michael commented 'The opportunity to return to Britain to conduct one of the World's leading bands is a huge honour. There is also a special motivation as - besides all the other british bands - we will face a band from Switzerland (Valaisia) and the Norwegian Eikanger-Bjorsvik Band where I have been their guest-conductor on two occasions. I am very much looking forward to the challenge of Brussels Requiem which is a challenging and very entertaining testpiece for both bands and audiences.'

Mark Wilkinson commented 'Due to Bramwell Tovey's busy schedule we were always aware that he would be unable to conduct Foden's at the Major's this year. We are extremely excited to have confirmed Michael who is in demand across the world. Michael is a young and exciting conductor with an excellent contest pedigree and we are looking forward to welcoming him to Sandbach'

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
