The closing date for the Foden's Solo Contest to be held on the 1st November is fast approaching.

The Adjudicators who have been given the difficult task of adjudicating 19 classes will be Glyn Williams (appearing courtesy of Sterling Musical Instruments) Anthony Galinier and Glenn Van Looy (both appearing courtesy of Besson Musical Instruments) and percussion judge Chris Bastock (appearing courtesy of the Love Music Trust)

Last year over 170 competitors competed in the contest travelling from Belgium, Ireland, Holland, Scotland and Wales to attend what is becoming the most popular solo contest in the country.

Speaking ahead of the contest the event co ordinator Fiona Rolfe commented 'The Foden's organisation are once again looking forward to hosting what will be another successful solo contest at Sandbach School on the 1st November. We have an expert panel of adjudicators as well as some great prizes which include bursaries, commissions, foreign travel as well as various trophies across all the various sections. As per previous years we will have various trade stands and refreshments. We have already received a large number of entries but would like to remind those interested in competing in the event that the closing date is the 27th September.'

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
