In April Alan Hodgkinson (B flat bass) decide that he would be taking a break from banding. Taking Alan's place upto the British Open will be Danny Sinclair (ex Black Dyke). In May Nicky Lees (3rd Cornet) left the band after 4 years to take up a position with Grimethorpe. Robin Basu joins from The Scottish Co-operative Funeralcare Band where he has been a member for over 20 years during which time he has played front and back row cornet. Chris Haigh (1st Horn) has also decided to take a break from banding due to the increasingly popularity of the 'Jager Maestros Oompah Band' that he fronts. Foden's are pleased to welcome Neil Raisbeck who joins from Solo Horn at Marsden. Natsumi McDonald (solo baritone) said goodbye to the band in June due to starting a family in September. Natsumi's position has been filled by Sarah Lenton who joins from the equivalent position from Fairey's. Finally Lesley Poole (solo horn) will say goodbye to the band next week, Lesley's position has been filled by Daniel Powell (ex solo horn at Brighouse and Grimethorpe).

Speaking about the recent changes Mark Wilkinson commented 'We would like to thank those who have left the band for the various reasons. All have been great committed servants to Foden's who will be missed. We would like to offer a warm welcome to the bands new signings, all of whom are very experienced and have a proven track record at the highest level. A number of the bands signings were in place at the bands recent recording breaking Whit Friday performances where the band won all of their 11 contests.'

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
