On Saturday 31st October 2015 the annual 'Foden's Solo Contest' took place at Sandbach School. Now in it's 5th year, the contest attracts entrants from across the UK as well as Europe with entries from France and Belgium this year.

Foden's Youth Band to kick off 4th season with free concert

During the last academic year Foden's Youth Band continued to develop in many areas thanks to the incredible support received from Besson, Love Music Trust & RNCM. Over the past year the band commissioned new works, promoted concerts in new venues and even received its first ever set of stand banners.

Armagh Summer School 2015

Monday 3rd August saw the start of the 15th Annual Armagh Old Boys’ Summer School led once again by 9 tutors from Foden’s Band. This year’s tutors were Richard Poole, Ian Raisbeck, Lesley Poole, Sarah Lenton, Mark Bousie, Shaun Farrington, Stewart Baglin, Anthony Mann and Michael Fowles.

Summer Break & Withington visit

Foden's Solo Contest 2015

Plans are well under way for the forthcoming Foden's Solo Contest (which is the largest of its kind in the UK) to be held in Sandbach on the 31st October 2015. As well as various prizes and bursaries, Glyn Williams (pictured left) will now provide a trophy for the 'most outstanding euphonium player of the day'.

On Saturday 2nd May 'Team Foden's' (Foden's and Foden's Youth) performed at Keele University. Each band performed a solo spot before combining to perform a World Premiere from Andy Stevenson of 'Tales of Myths and Legends' which takes inspiration from Cheshire's rich mythological history.
