About the Band
The band maintains a world class reputation for providing quality entertainment in the field of brass music with a traditional and unique style. The repertoire includes the full spectrum from light popular music both old and new through operatic, film and light orchestral works to the serious original brass band music performed by outstanding soloists and supported by an enviable collection of fine musicians.
The aim of the band is to consistently provide music of the highest quality at a cost which reflects outstanding value for money. The benefits for concert promoters are the guarantee that the reputation and stature maintained will always command audiences which fill concert venues.
The top British brass bands are renowned throughout the world for the standard and quality of their concert performances and the Foden's Band are no exception. Recent highlights have included radio and television work as well as a Scandinavian tour. As well as performing in its own right the band is able to work with other musical groups including popular `promenade type' concerts featuring the band and orchestras such as the Halle and Camerata. These now form just a part of the annual concert schedule which the band undertakes.
New music is always promoted and commissioned as well as the provision of educational programmes for schools, colleges and other musical organisations.

Fodens place a great emphasis on educational work and in 1995 devised a 'youth policy'. This policy outlined ways in which the band could assist various youth organisations in their progress.
Since 1995 Fodens have regularly held coaching days with 'youth bands' where we have assisted in preperations for concerts and contests. As well as working with 'youth bands' Fodens have also worked with a number of the countries 'Music Services' in a coaching and specialist capacity.
The format of the coaching days are tailored to suit the organisations requirements and mainly consist of sectional and full rehearsals, masterclasses, private tuition as well as ensemble rehearsals and conducting classes.
The coaching days are run by principal members of the band who are all experienced teachers and performers. The tutoring team are also tutors with the various national youth bands of Great Britain, Scotland and Wales and all have 'crb' clearance.
