The
Fodens Motor Works Band were in the fortunate position of
always using their own custom built coaches which were manufactured
in Sandbach by the band's first sponsor, Fodens Limited.
The present day band, like most other bands, have to hire
transport to take them to and from venues as pictured above.
This
was a Foden three ton steam wagon fitted with a five ton
boiler and engine. "Puffing Billy" was in service until
the late nineteen twenties when it was sent to the breakers
yard.
