David 'Pup' Brunsdon 1966-1991David was born in Wallasey in 1966, the youngest of two boys to Norma and Allan and brother to John. The family moved to Little Neston in 1968. He first played the baritone at the age of eight in the newly-formed brass section of Woodfall Junior school orchestra, and was taught by Mr. Bert Kemp. He was also a founder member of Little Neston Junior Band.

When he was 10 he joined Lyceum Brass as second baritone. At 14 he played for Cheshire County Youth Brass Band and played until he was 21.

David left Lyceum Brass for Foden's Motor Works Band in 1982 as solo baritone and stayed as solo baritone for the rest of his playing career with this band. Although the name changed twice, it remained a childhood dream come true.

On leaving Neston County Comprehensive School David went on to study engineering at Lancashire Polytechnic in Preston, and later joined the firm of Biwater (water treatment engineers) in Heywood, Lancashire, as a project manager.

David was a very keen rock and mountain climber and most holidays and spare weekends were spent climbing in this country or in the Alps.
