KEY EVENTS

1. Hay Walks
This event took place on the Mall with young folk from Longstone Riding for the Disabled and two of their horses 'Bob' and 'Robbie' providing free rides for all. The Fodens Octet provided lively music whilst people walked several laps of the Mall and dropped their donations into buckets to buy hay for Bob, Robbie and the other horses for the winter.

2. Monday 7th Evening, Tuesday 8th & Wednesday 9th Morning, Noon and Night
Workshops, master classes, youth band rehearsals and all comers rehearsals intermingled with football, cricket, rounders and singing games laced with good humour, craic and good natured banter!

3. Thursday 10th 8pm Young Soloists, Duets, Junior Band and Intermediate Band Concert, all backed by Fodens Octet
'What a treat' a full house (with extra chairs) was richly entertained and encouraged by all the performers. 22 items were performed, with the junior band performing 'Rock Around the Clock' and 'Armagh Band Blues', conducted by Helen Tyler. The intermediate band successfully performed 'Eye of the Tiger' Conducted by Toby Hobson. Everyone was treated to a wonderful buffet supper which as usual included a large slice of: - Fodens Cake!!

4. Friday 11th Morning
The last All Comers rehearsal to finalise the programme for Saturday Nights Finale Concert - amazingly our most challenging pieces were all included.
Friday Afternoon
Secret preparations took place for the street musician's competition. Groups of up to 8 musicians prepared a 8-10 minute programme to be performed at each of the 8 stations placed around the pedestrian areas of Armagh.
Friday Night
Barbeque for all at the Old Boys' Music Centre - a little time to relax, chat and get to know each other better.

5. Saturday 12th 11am - 2pm
The Street Musicians Competition judged by the Fodens Octet. Eight very competitive groups of around 8 players provided an 8 minute programme at each station around Armagh, a total of 554 minutes of musical delight! Adjudicated by the Fodens tutors marks were based on musical ability, percussion, singing, dress, innovation and entertainment value. The group named the 'American Rebels' (Alias the Wilson Family) were the overall winners with 502 points, just 4 points ahead of the 'Bellisimo Belters' on 498 points.

Many shopping folk stopped groups to thank them for their lively performances and for lifting their day.

Saturday 6.30pm
The Finale Concert took place on the Mall in very cold and damp conditions with quite a good crowd turning up to clap and cheer us on.

The 'American Rebels' treated us all to some items from their winning performances in the Street Musicians Competition - Their singing and playing in their arrangement of 'I Feel Pretty' especially caught the eye!

The Youth Band programme included:-
Schnappi - Triangle Solo Peter Lenaghan (Aged 4)
Stage Centre

Build me up Buttercup
Spread a Little Happiness
Eventide

The All Comers Band programme includes:-
