All England Masters, Cambridge - Results

Yorkshire Building Society just pip Williams Fairey to take the All England Masters Championship on a rainy day in Cambridge. After yet another early draw Fodens Courtois were unable to find a way into the prizes. Full results were as follows: -

European Brass Band Championships - Birmingham, Symphony Hall

Fodens on stage at the European Championships
Fodens Courtois on stage at the European Championships.
Despite a very strong own choice performance of "A Dove Descending" (Philip Wilby) Fodens Courtois had to be content with 3rd place at this year's European Championships. Yorkshire Building Society Band came out on top with consistent results in both the "set" and "own choice" test pieces.

Bandsman of the Year 2000!

Tim Walters was awarded "Bandsman of the Year" during the Patrons Concert held at Sandbach School on 22nd February this year. Tim, pictured on the far left receiving his award from Band Chairman Colin Short, has been a member of the band's front row cornet section for several years. He is also the "Band Sergeant" and an active member of the committee. Tim's other responsibilities include the organisation of coaches and other transport to and from concert venues.
