James Charles 40 Year Association

James CharlesTo commemorate a 40 year association with the Fodens Band, Jim was presented with an oil painting of the band's winning performance of Montage at Cambridge 1994. The picture was presented by Granville Jennings at the band's annual Christmas concert at Winsford in which Jim played. Jim was overwhelmed and said "it was a better kept secret than D Day".

Fodens win at Spennymoor!

Fodens Courtois lead by Ray Farr win the UK Entertainment Championships in Spennymoor with Glyn Williams also winning "Best Euphonium".

Fodens Courtois Band today announced that leading composer/arranger Ray Farr will direct them at the UK Entertainment Championships in Spennymoor on 19th November.

2000 National Championships Results

Fodens brilliant performance under Bramwell Tovey at this years National Finals just failed to convince the adjudicators and they had to be content with third place. Cory (Buy as you view) were awarded first place to add to their British Open Title.

Media interest in National Title Defence

Bramwell Tovey and Tim Walters were speaking live on BBC GMR's Breakfast Show this morning regarding the defence of the band's National title on 21st October. (We will try and post a copy of their interview on our web site shortly. Bryan Hurdley was also interviewed on BBC Radio Stoke this morning.

Look out for the band live on Tuesday 17th October on BBC TV's News North at 6:00 p.m. They are to open and close the programme which will also include an interview with Bramwell Tovey.

"Tovey for Fodens"

Foden's Richardson Band today ended weeks of speculation regarding their appointment for a Principal Conductor for the up coming British Open and National Brass Band Championship Finals.

In a move that will bring an association between two musical heavyweights, both with enviable pedigrees, Fodens have announced that Bramwell Tovey will direct the band at the final two major contests of the year.
