On Saturday 16th November Foden's travelled to Gateshead to appear in the 'Brass in Concert Gala Concert' at the Sage where we shared the stage with our friends from Cory and Black Dyke.

The concert was performed to a capacity audience with each band being well received.

On Sunday 17th November the band competed in the 'Brass in Concert Competition' against 10 invited bands from the uk at the Sage infront of an audience in access of 1600 people.

Each band performed a 25 Entertainment programme in front of 2 judges who judged the quality of the playing, 1 judge who judged the programme content and 1 judge who judged the Entertainment value of the programme. All the various marks were then added together.

At the conclusion of the contest the band were pleased to have been placed 3rd as well as Lesley Poole being awared the 'Best horn of the day.'

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
