On the 4th May players from Foden's band carried out a coaching day upon the invitation of the Dobcross Youth Band and conductor Jonathan Parkes.

The coaching day was led by Foden's players Helen Williams, Chris Haigh, Glyn Williams, John Barber and Stuart Baglin who worked on various pieces that were to be performed by the Youth band in a concert at Uppermill later that night along with Foden's.

Speaking about the coaching day Foden's John Barber commented 'We have had an enjoyable day working with the talented youngsters. The playing and general behaviour has been a credit to the Youth Band and they certainly have a great future ahead of them.'

The concert at Uppermill was in front of a full and appreciative audience which featured the Dobcross Youth band performing at the start of the first and second half before joining Fodens in a massed number to conclude the concert

Dave Nixon from Dobcross Youth said "This was a fabulous opportunity for our young players to be tutored and then perform alongside these wonderful Fodens players. Thank you for a superb evening concert thoroughly enjoyed by all".
