The Final of the Cheshire East Schools Music Competition

Foden’s Brass Band are proud to again be taking part in this year’s annual Cheshire East Schools Music Competition.

This year there are 4 schools competing to become champions. During the first half of the concert Congleton High School Chamber Choir and Sandbach School Big Band will compete in the secondary category. Bollinbrook C of E music group and St Mary’s Crewe Choir will compete in the primary category. The competition will be adjudicated by: Cllr Andrew  Knowles (Portfolio holder: health and Well being), Rob Nash (Head of Cheshire East Music Service) and Andy Scott (composer in residence for Fodens).

During the second half of the concert Foden’s Band will perform from its repertoire. Each school will also be performing alongside Fodens, including some especially arranged pieces for the evening.

The partnership between Cheshire East music Service and Fodens Brass band is the only one of its kind, no other Brass Band has such a partnership.

The competition gives the children and young people of Cheshire East the opportunity to showcase their talents, hard work and creativity.

The concert will culminate in the presentation of the trophies to this year’s winners by Cllr Baxendale Mayor of Cheshire East.

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
