Fodens are pleased to announce that their recent cd 'Masquerade' has been voted the 'Brass Band World cd of the year.'

The cd was short listed by a panel comprising of Nigel Seaman, Les Neish, Christopher Thomas and Tom Davoren along with 'Jewels' by Eminence Brass (Philip Cobb, Richard Marshall, Owen Farr and David Childs), 'Out of this World' by Cory and 'Pictures' by Black Dyke.

'Masquerade' is conducted by Howard Snell / Allan Withington and features Heatons 'Partita', Irelands 'Comedy Overture', Wilbys 'Masquerade' and Hamers 'Power of the Soul.' The cd can be purchased from the bands website www.fodensband.co.uk

Speaking about the award Mark Wilkinson said 'Fodens Band are extremely pleased that Masquerade has won the Brass Band World cd of the Year. We place a great importance on artistic cd projects as shown by our previous 'serious cds' that have won many accolades over the past couple of years. This award rounds off a truly great year for the band'

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
