On Tuesday 19th February Fodens held their annual Patrons concert to a packed Sandbach School with over 500 Patrons in attendance.

This concert was the first time that the Patrons had been able to see the band with both the British Open Shield and Nationals Trophy as well as having the opportunity to purchase the bands latest cd release 'Patrons Choice 6' made up of requests from the Patrons as well as the winning performances from both contests.

During the concert Andy Rolfe updated the Patrons about the bands new management structure as well as introducing various professionals who have been brought in by the management team with specific tasks, targets and roles.

Each year members of the band vote on various awards and this year the 'Player of the Year' went to the bands star soprano Richard Poole and 'Bands person' of the year to Ian Raisbeck who was instrumental in setting up and running the very successful Fodens Youth Band.

Prior to the concert Stephen Sebire MBE (one of the bands Vice Presidents) made a presentation of a bottle of Champagne with Double Champions labels to each member of the band before receiving a presentation himself during the concert by the newly appointed Band Manager Mark Wilkinson to thank him for his 26 years service with the band as well as being the main instigator in arranging and organising the bands new management structure.

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
