Phil Green returns to Fodens

Posted by Mark Wilkinson on 29 November 2012

Fodens are pleased to announce the return of eflat bass player Phil Green.

Phil originally joined the band at the invitation of Howard Snell in 1994 after a successful time at Desford Colliery Caterpillar Band. Originally on BBb he moved on to EEb in 1995 and was Solo EEb from then until leaving in 2005.

Phil made a welcome return to the band to cover for the British Open and National finals but...
has now decided to return to full time banding again after a couple of years absence

Speaking about the signing Mark Wilkinson said 'All at Fodens are delighted that Phil has decided to make a return back to banding. Phil is a great player with a lot of experience and will be a great addition to the band.'

Phil commented 'I am delighted to be offered the chance to rejoin Fodens again especially so because when I left in 2005 we had the big gold shield on stage with us at our concerts too, so it's like I've never been away (except we now have the big silver cup too). However my old red jacket is a bit tight so I'm hoping the band have put aside some of the recent winnings to buy me a new one. I am looking forward to returning to the band and working with Mike Fowles and Allan Witihington in what are very exciting times for the band'.
For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
