Recording Projects

Fodens have been busy in the recording studio lately recording a CD conducted by Bram Tovey. The recording comprises compositions by Bram including the test pieces 'A Night to Sing' and 'Coventry Variations'. Bram is also a featured soloist on the recording playing the piano. A major highlight on the recording is the inclusion of a Trombone Concerto performed by Joe Allesi (Principal Trombone with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra) which was composed for Joe and the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain.

After returning from the bands Christmas holidays Fodens will make a return to the recording studio to record 'Patrons Choice No 2', a CD comprising of requests made by the Fodens Patrons. This recording will be released at the Bands annual Patrons Concert in February.

Further exciting recordings are also planned at the start of 2009 where the band will record a number of test pieces  including 'Variations on a 9th' 'In Memorium R K'  'Paganini Variations' and well as 'Rococo Variations' which the band won the 2008 British Open.' Further recording sessions in February will see the band record with Tuba Soloists James Gourlay and our own Virtuoso Les Neish.

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
