We’re delighted to announce that Foden’s Band & its Composer in Residence, Andy Scott, are recipients of a prestigious commission from PRS for Music Foundation’s New Music Biennial.

Consequently, award-winning composer Andy has collaborated with poet Lemn Sissay to write A Child Like You for Foden’s, soprano/narrator Anna-Clare Monk and harpist Lauren Scott. A Child Like You poses questions about children that are fostered, adopted or orphaned, using poetry written by Lemn Sissay (himself one of these children), from his children’s book ‘The Emperor’s Watchmaker’, and drawing upon the real life experiences of a child refugee, who fled Uganda in 1972 and lived with the family of composer Andy Scott.

Performances at the Southbank Centre, London and at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall as part of the Commonwealth Games Celebrations, are preceded by a world première of A Child Like You at the RNCM on Friday 2 May at 8pm.

Tickets for the RNCM performance are available now. Box Office 0161 907 5555
