Jonathan's professional life is as a cellist, where he can be seen working with the LPO, BBCCO & English Touring Opera. However, having been brought up by a Yorkshireman it was only a matter of time before banding became part of his life.

In 2014, after 23 years in London, Jonathan decided to relocate back to Staffordshire. He had depped a few times for the Brighouse & Rastrick band when they were in London and joined them that year. After 2 years of memorable performances with Brighouse (including qualification for the Europeans), an increasing workload allied to the 200 mile round trip to rehearsals meant he had to step down from the band. He has continued playing when he can for B&R and Grimethorpe plus the Symphonic Brass of London.

Speaking on his new appointment Jonathan commented "It's great to be joining the percussion team at Fodens and I am looking forward to a new chapter. I will miss my friends at Brighouse where I have had a fantastic couple of years. I am delighted to have the chance to play for Fodens and looking forward to a number of exciting projects and tours that the band have in 2017."

Speaking on behalf of Foden's Mark Wilkinson commented 'Foden's are extremely pleased to add such a fantastic musician to our percussion team. Jonathan will join our experienced team of Mark Landon, Anthony Mann and Eve Knowles starting in January.'

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
