Foden's Youth Band recently ended the academic year with a performance in the picturesque surroundings of Gawsworth Hall. One of Cheshire's most iconic venues, Gawsworth hosts an annual summer season featuring some of the UK's most famous musicians, actors and comedians. The concert on Saturday was part of a celebration hosted by the Love Music Trust (the lead partner in the Cheshire East Music Hub). As well as Foden's Youth Band, other local youth bands including Poynton Youth Band, Lions Youth Brass and Macclesfield Youth Brass Band also performed.

Now at the end of its second academic year, FYB has enjoyed another year of exciting projects. In May, they performed alongside Foden's in a rare performance of Howard Snell's 'Images of the Millennium' for double brass band and percussion. Co-ordinator Ian Raisbeck said, "The youth band has continued to go from strength to strength in its second year, largely thanks to the fantastic team of conductors and tutors we are fortunate enough to have at Foden's, as well as the generous support we receive from out partners Besson Musical Instruments, RNCM and of course, the Love Music Trust."

Applications for membership of the band are open to any brass or percussion players aged 21 or under, of grade 5 standard or above.
