Fumika was born in Tokyo, Japan. She started playing at the age of nine on the flugel horn. Following a complete break from playing for 6 years, she began playing again on the trumpet, before moving on to cornet. Since moving to England to study music at the University of Salford, Fumika has played for such bands as Stalybridge, Moston and Beswick, Middleton, and Sellers Internationals. When Fumika leaves university, she would like to teach in Japan.
