Lucy ChiversLucy, who grew up in the small Lancashire town of Howrich, started playing piano at the tender age of five and later brass at the age of 8. Being quick to progress, Lucy joined the Bolton Hoover band when she was 13, contesting in the 1st and 2nd sections playing cornet firstly on the back row, and later on the front. Also during this time, Lucy's talent as a pianist gained recognition not only from her school but outside organizations. As well as playing piano in numerous school shows, Lucy was regularly asked to accompany the Bolton Catholics Choral Society and also taught the instrument privately during her late teens.

In 2001 Lucy moved to Manchester where she studied optometry at UMIST. It is at this time Lucy joined the Eagley Bolton band playing both cornet and latterly Flugel Horn. Lucy joined the Fodens band during January 2008 after helping the band out on many previous occasions.

Lucy now works as an Optometrist at Cloughs Opticians in Bolton, living in near-by Astley Bridge. When not playing with Fodens or testing peoples eyes, Lucy enjoys travelling and playing badminton.
