|
Glyn's memorable talent is appreciated all over the world through appearances in Crete, Equador, Brazil, France and of course, in his native land of Wales. Glyn was bom in Aberystwyth where he was introduced to music by his uncle and enjoyed playing with Towyn Silver, Royal Oakley and Menai Bridge, all local bands. Today, Glyn is recognised as an outstanding soloist in his own right and as a popular musician with the Foden's Richardson Band. His appointment as solo euphonium for the band in 1995 contributed to many contest victories, including The All England Masters and Swiss Open 1995, French Open and Brass in Concert 1998, North West Area Finals 1998/1999/2000 & 2002, National Brass Band Champions of Great Britain 1999 and most recently the title of The all England Masters again in 2002. Being appointed as professor of Euphonium at Salford University is one of Glyn's best achievements as he was once a student there. Glyn has worked as a Euphonium tutor with both the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain & National Youth Brass Band of Wales. Glyn's expertise has been recognised by a recent appointment as a Director of the Antoine Courtois UK retailer and wholesalers, Fred Rhodes Limited (Oldham). Click on photo for a larger image. |
