The annual' Whit Friday March Contest' was held in Tameside and Saddleworth on Friday 28th May

Foden's band competed in all the 11 contests in various venues around the Tameside area and were awarded

1st  Audenshaw, Broadoak, Hurst Cross, Stalybridge

2nd Carrbrook, Duckinfield, Stalybridge Celtic, Upper Mossley,

3rd  Denton,

Fodens also received a 3rd place at Greenacres in Saddleworth

Despite a very consistent nights performance on the March 'The President' conducted by Alan Lawton Foden's finished 2nd overall closely behind Faireys who became the 'Tameside Whit Friday Champions' by 1 point. Leyland band were awarded 3rd place.

Fodens prize fund for the night was £4400 as well as various solo prizes
