The Hills Are Alive!

On the 10th March Fodens took part in a very special project featuring the, Lions Youth Brass, Norwegian Actress Camilla Belsvik and over 100 local school children.

Fodens' professional conductor Allan Withington and his wife devised the project some years ago for the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and later re-worked it for Brass Band. The show tells the story of the famous Von-Trapp family who escape persecution at the hands of the Nazi party to perform throughout the world.

Lions played a first half of concert music featuring Fodens players in two items (12th Street Rag and Perhaps Love) before both bands joined together to perform a rousing finale of 'Conquest to Paradise'. The Second half then saw Lions players join local school children to perform songs from the show accompanied by the Fodens Band.

The show was a huge success, playing to not one, but two sell out audiences at Sandbach High School!

Fodens are very proud of their close relationship with Lions Youth as well as their 'Youth Educational Programme' which this forms part of.

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
