Between the 28th June and the 4th July Foden's Band hosted the annual Allan Withington Conducting School in Sandbach.

Twelve conductors from the Uk, Switzerland, Norway, Nigeria and Denmark spent a week in Sandbach where they worked with the Roberts Bakery Band in full rehearsals, as well as a 10-piece ensemble to produce an afternoon concert on the Sandbach Cobbles. After this, Roberts Bakery handed over to Foden's who spent two nights rehearsing with the conductors which conluded in a final concert at Sandbach School on Thursday 3rd July.

The conductors also worked with Mette Højen whose lectures concentrated on the role of the conductor in leadership and the psychology of musical communication. Allan Withington worked with the conductors on all aspects of conducting and programme planning.

A review of the course, as well as the Foden's concert can be viewed by following the links shown below.

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
