On the 22nd June Foden's Composer-in-Residence Andy Scott and Solo Trombone John Barber will hold a Jazz improvisation class at the Foden's bandroom in Sandbach.
At the class Andy and John will give an insight into how the classically-trained musician may unlock the mysteries of jazz and improvising as well as talking (and demonstrating) about 'feel and style' from bossa nova to funk and swing and how you can incorporate this into your playing, as well as using charts from Andy's book 'Access All Areas' (Astute Music).

The class is open to all ages, instruments and standard.
Speaking about the workshop Foden's Band Manager Mark Wilkinson commented 'Over the next couple of months Foden's will be running various workshops led by the bands Principal players that will be advertised in due course. We have an on going Youth Development policy, are currently in the middle of running a composers contest and will be hosting and assisting in the organisation of Allan Withington's Conducting School to be held in Sandbach. The workshop's are the next stage to ensure that we cover all aspects in relation to the development of players, conductors and composers.'

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
