All at Foden's are extremely saddened to hear about the death of Allan Littlemore who was a lifelong supporter and previous Head of Personnel at Foden's Motor Works.
Between 1975-2000, Allan was the Band Manager of Foden's where he was instrumental in appointing James Scott and Howard Snell as Musical Directors, as well as securing sponsorship from Britannia Building Society. Allan was also the band’s authoritative historian, securing numerous artefacts and memorabilia as well as writing a book to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Foden's. In 1982 he managed to secure an engagement to perform on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace whilst the Queen watched and listened from a balcony window.
Following Allan's retirement as Band Manager, he maintained close links with the band, arranging and compering a memorabilia project and double concert in June 2018 to commemorate the life of Edwin Firth (Principal Cornet with Foden's) who was killed serving Country in 1918.
Our thoughts are with his wife Janet, son Phillip and daughter Kathryn.
