Speaking on behalf of Foden's Mark Wilkinson commented 'We have been extremely pleased with the feedback following the stream of our solo contest final. Over 4,500 viewers watched the event from China to Australia on top of 150,000 views on our facebook page which hosted the heats of six different categories featuring 84 submissions. The standard across the heats and final was fantastic and we would like to thank those who submitted entries as well as those who posted feedback on the various performances. We are grateful to the bands Principal players and Michael Fowles who acted as adjudicators in the heats and who were joined in the final by our esteemed guests Bramwell Tovey, Russell Gray, David Childs and Simone Rebello. The event would not have happened without help from Kapitol Promotions and Brass Band World,  Arts Council England (who provided funding through its Emergency Response Fund which was developed due to the Covid-19 crisis) and Iwan Fox who acted as out host. Finally, we would like to say a special thank you to our social media committee and Darren Lea for co ordinating this project.'

Despite lockdown, Foden's have remained extremely busy producing sixteen virtual videos, five podcasts as well as their Online Whit Friday contest. The solo contest stream and all videos produced during lock down can be viewed on the bands youtube page https://www.youtube.com/c/FodensBand1900/

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
