2016 posterFoden’s Band are pleased to announce that, for the first time, they will share the stage with Foden’s Youth Band & the new Foden’s Junior Band in a concert promoted by Accent Music Education Hub (Warrington).

The afternoon performance takes place on Sunday 5th June 2016 2pm at Warrington’s Parr Hall and is set to be a memorable concert with each of the bands performing their own sets before joining together for a massed celebration of the talent on show.

With over 100 years of musical excellence, Foden’s Band remain one of the worlds leading brass bands. They have been 12 times British Open Champion and 13 times National Champion, most recently winning both titles in 2012. Foden’s will also showcase some of their start soloists, many of whom are regarded as leading exponents on their instruments.

Foden’s Youth Band was formed in 2012 as a natural extension to the youth development work carried out by the band members. Meeting monthly, the band gives young brass & percussion players opportunities to receive expert guidance, perform challenging repertoire and perform at prestigious venues. They have performed at the RNCM Festival of Brass twice, at Manchester Cathedral with international Trumpet Soloist Jens Lindemann and recently recorded 4 tracks for the ‘Patrons Choice IX’ CD which has been released by Foden’s Band to critical acclaim.

With an established Youth Band, Accent approached Foden’s in 2015 to propose a new Foden’s Junior Band. Meeting monthly in Warrington, the new ensemble has enabled younger musicians from the Warrington area, and further afield, to experience the same expert guidance provided at Youth Band level by Foden’s team of experienced performers, tutors & conductors.

Speaking about the event, Youth Band Founder & Co-ordinator Ian Raisbeck said ‘It is going to be very exciting to see all three Foden’s Bands on stage together for the first time. We have been very fortunate over the past 4 years that the enthusiasm of our young players, dedication of our tutors and support from our partners have enabled us to drive these projects forward.

Tickets for the event are available from Parr Hall Box Office on 01925 442345

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
