On Tuesday 20th February Foden's Band held their annual Patrons Concert to a packed Sandbach School which gave the band chance to thank their loyal supporters. The Patrons Society comprises around 500 members and now celebrates 31 years of continued support to the band.
Once again the band provided an entertaining programme that included solos from Mark Wilkinson, Gary Curtin, Mel Whyle and John Barber. The concert also gave the band the opportunity to perform 'Odyssey' by Kevin Norbury ahead of their appearance at the North West Area on Sunday where Foden's are hoping to complete a hat rick of wins. Odyssey was conducted by Professor Nicholas Childs who made a welcome return to Sandbach.
Each year the band members vote for their 'Bands person and Player' of the year.
John Barber was presented with the 'Bands person of the Year' award, in part due to his input in the bands recent successful collaborations with Matt Ford which has culminated in John providing over 40 arrangements.
Gary Curtin became the 'Player of the Year' due to his fantastic performances since joining the band in January 2017 which contributed to the bands consistent contest and concert performances last year.
