Band shot with logos2With the arrival of the new school term, Foden's Youth and Junior Bands are preparing for another exciting year of music making.
The Youth Band will launch their 5th season with a weekend course later this month which will see Michael Fowles and Mark Bousie leading the band through a series of workshops, sectionals and full rehearsals culminating in an afternoon concert alongside partner ensembles Lions Youth Brass and Macclesfield Youth Brass Band.
Since 2012 the Youth Band, which accepts players grade 5+ (aged up to 21), has gone from strength to strength, enjoying guidance from Foden's team of experienced tutors and conductors. Last January the band accepted an invitation to perform at the prestigious RNCM Festival of Brass (for a second time in it's short history).
In September 2015 Foden's added a new ensemble to the family, with the formation of the Foden's Junior Band. Directed by Anna Hughes-Williams the Junior Band has been a welcome addition, accepting players of grade 2-5 (aged 18 or under), the band has quickly developed and has already been accepting many new members for this years band.
Over the next year, both bands look forward to some new opportunities, such as the new Foden's Youth Festival which will be held in partnership with Salford University and feature some of the countries leading Youth organisations performing in a groundbreaking non-competitive festival.
Foden's are incredibly grateful to Besson, Love Music Trust, Accent Music Hub and RNCM for the support which enables young musicians to experience the opportunities that we offer.

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
