In our recent organisational changes at Foden’s we’ve successfully recruited several trustees, one of which is Mrs. Alison Graham who in addition to being a trustee has also come on board as a Vice President. Alison, brings a wealth of experience which we are excited about and warmly welcome her in the new roles.

On accepting the Vice Presidency Alison commented,

“I am delighted and honoured to have been asked to become a Vice President of the world-class Foden’s Band.

Music has always been a very important part of my life, not least because, having been born into a very musical family in County Durham in the 1960s, I was surrounded by it in my youth, particularly through the many wonderful brass bands of the region! I continue to be passionate about all types of music, and enjoy attending live performances and concerts, when possible. Having been educated in the North East, I moved ‘south’ to Manchester. A lot of my working life was spent within the pharmaceutical industry in Cheshire, where I now live with my husband Steve and our two cats.

I’ve always been interested in current affairs, gaining a degree in Economics and Politics, and I keep up-to-date with day-to-day events in the British political system. My other hobbies include Nordic Walking, travel and activity holidays, and currently I’m learning to play chess.I hope that my work and life experiences will serve to benefit Foden’s Band. Above all, I look forward to bringing my enthusiasm, and to a long and successful association with the organisation.”

Our previous President Mr. Mark Greaves commented’

“I am delighted to recommend Alison Graham as a Vice President of the Band. Ali has a life-long love of brass band music, she is intelligent , enthusiastic and very committed to assisting the Band in any way she can. Ali has a strong business background with Astra Zeneca and good experience as a Trustee with other organisations, she is currently Treasurer of the Manchester International Wine & Food Society. Based on her excellent personal attributes and experience I have no hesitation in recommending Alison Graham as a Vice President of Foden’s Band.”

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
