Exciting times at Fodens

Prior to Foden's appearance at the RNCM 'Festival of Brass' the band had been busy preparing and recording a solo cd with the world renowned Trumpet Soloist Jens Lindemann conducted by James Gourlay. Foden's will travel to Switzerland in November where they will be featured in concerts with Jens as guest soloist conducted by James Watson. A further trip to Switzerland in April 2012 has also been planned where the band will again appear with James Watson and guest soloist Ian Bousefield.

Further to the recent release that Allan Withington will conduct Foden's at the North West area the band have also announced that Foden's have accepted the invitation to compete at the forthcoming English Nationals where they will again be conducted by Allan Withington. Following on from the successful partnership at the British Open in 2010 the band have announced that Howard Snell will return to Fodens to conduct at the Bridgewater Hall in May where they will feature in the gala concert alongside Black Dyke.

Commenting on the above band chairman John Barber said 'Fodens have enjoyed working with Jens and James Gourlay recently and are looking forward to our forthcoming trips with Jens and Ian Bousefield as well as being conducted for the first time by James Watson. The band enjoyed working with Allan and Howard last year and are again looking forward to working with such high class musicians.'

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
