Foden's Brass Band can now boast being the best band in the world after receiving conformation that they have now been ranked No1 in the 'World Brass Band Rankings' .
Following the band's last two contests which saw them win the 'British Open' at the Symphony Hall In Birmingham and coming 2nd at the 'National Finals' at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Fodens gained sufficient points to leap frog their rivals.
Foden's now head the list ahead of Grimethorpe, Cory and Black Dyke.
Speaking about the announcement Mark Wilkinson said "The band are ecstatic following this news which comes on top of our 2 recent contest results. The band last headed the rankings in 2003 and due to our consistent form on the contest stage we have now finally landed the no1 spot".

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
