Japanese Tsunami Appeal

Over the past couple of weeks Natsumi Inaba and Fumika Kimura (both members of Foden's)have been busy arranging a number of fund raising events to help raise funds and awareness for the 'British Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal'

Ian Clowes kindly donated two pictures of Foden's Band that he had previously taken at Chester Cathedral which were subsequently auctioned over the past two weekends during Fodens concerts in Crawley and Ipswich which raised £140 and £155 respectively.

Natsumi and Fu also organised a charity concert aided by Marrianne Garbutt from Salford University and Tim Hewitt from Hammonds Band on Sunday 3rd April at Peel Hall, Salford University.  This concert was conducted by Richard Evans and Dr Roy Newsome and the band consisted of players from Foden's, Fairey's, Leyland, Hammonds, Wingates, Fulham and Tyldesley raising £600

A total of £1500 has been raised from all the various events and collections including £535 from a concert featuring 'City Youth Brass Band' and 'City Youth Training Brass Band' of Stoke on Trent Music Service on Monday 28th March.

Natsumi and Fumika would like to thank everyone who has helped or made donations to the fund

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
