Foden's Band are delighted to announce that Professor John Wallace OBE CBE has accepted the post of Vice President with the band.

Professor Wallace is not new to the band having conducted them at Gateshead's Brass in Concert Championship at the end of 2010 where the band were placed 2nd on performance and 3rd overall. The acclaimed trumpeter and Principal of the Royal Scottish Academy recently received the C.B.E in the New Years honours on top of his O.B.E. in 1995 in recognition of his distinguished services to music. Mr Wallace will now join the bands four other Foden's Vice-Presidents.

Foden's chairman John Barber commented "Fodens and Mr Wallace had a great working relationship for the BIC contest and having someone of John's knowledge and experience on board will open up new avenues for the band  Both parties are currently investigating several exciting projects that will be challenging and very enjoyable”.

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
