On Saturday 20th October at The Royal Albert Hall in London, the National Brass Band Championships were held which featured the top 20 brass bands from around the UK. The chosen test piece was a fiendishly difficult arrangement by Howard Snell of the Maurice Ravel's Daphnis and Chloe.
On Sunday 7th October 2012 the East Anglian Brass Band Association held its Annual Brass Training Day at St Andrew’s Hall, Norwich. Eighty-four delegates from the age of 11 upwards had enrolled on the course and were looking forward to benefiting from the tutors advice and expertise.

On Sunday 30th September the first rehearsal of the brand new Fodens Youth Band takes place in Sandbach. The band has been overwhelmed with applications over the past couple of months and 60 successful applicants will come together to rehearse for the first time this Sunday.
