From the first Whit Friday Marches in 1884, the event has grown in popularity. This year over a hundred brass bands participated in some twenty different contests at venues scattered around the areas of Tameside and Saddleworth.

On the 12th May Foden's will travel to Norwich where they will perform a gala concert at the St Andrews Hall commencing at 6.30pm following the EABBA contest which will be adjudicated by Glyn Williams.
