Foden's awarded 'Quality of Performance' at the 'Brass in Concert' entertainment contest

On Saturday 20th November Foden's competed at the 'Brass in Concert' entertainment contest at the Saga, Gateshead which is regarded as the leading brass band entertainment contest in the World's banding calendar due to the quality of the bands invited to compete. 

At the contest, bands are judged on the quality of their playing as well as programme content and innovation. 

Foden's are extremely fortunate to have a number of skilled composers and arrangers amongst their ranks, these talents were utilised when planning the programme 'Into the Dark' which included references to Ghosts, Ghouls, Witches and Jack the Ripper!!!!!. The 'show' utilised the venues lighting to full effect as well as their large multimedia screen receiving an excellence response from both audience and adjudicators.

The band, conducted by Michael Fowles were awarded a very respectful 2nd place overall as well as winning the 'best percussion section' and 'Quality of Performance'
