Foden's honour players at their annual Christmas Concert

mark landon award 2021On Sunday 12th December Foden's held their annual Christmas Concert to a capacity audience of Patrons and supporters in Sandbach with a programme featuring original classics as well as a large number of new arrangements from the pen of John Barber. The concert also gave band members the opportunity to vote on their Player and Bandsperson of the year.

Prior to announcing these awards, a presentation was made to percussionist Mark Landon who celebrated 21 years continued service at the end of 2020. Due to various restrictions and lock downs, the presentation of a framed print containing quotes from Bramwell Tovey, Russell Gray, Michael Fowles and Garry Cutt was delayed.

 

The 'Player of the year' was awarded to Gary Curtin for his outstanding contribution, including his award as 'Best Instrumentalist' at this years National Final. 'Bandsperson of the year' was presented to Richard Poole for his work in coordinating and producing over twenty virtual videos as well as a number of online workshops during lock down.'
