Foden's join forces with the Rhos Orpheus Male Voice Choir to support a worthy cause

On the 27th October Foden's will make a welcome return to the Victoria Hall, Hanley to appear in concert with the award winning Rhos Orpheus Male Voice Choir

The concert is being organised by Eddie Timmins with all proceeds being donated to support the coronary care unit at the Royal Stoke University Hospital.

Eddie is no stranger to Foden's following an original meeting with Cliff French where he later became a Trustee and avid supporter of the Band. In the early 90's Foden's rehearsed at Sandbach School but decided to look for a permanent home. After an approach from Cliff, Eddie agreed for the band to move into a unit that he owned on the Stud Green Industrial Estate in Elworth that was later sold to Flowcrete. This became Foden's home until 2016 when a fire devastated the premises.

On the 30th August 2016 Eddie was mowing his lawn when he felt a severe pain in his chest. Despite taking a rest the pain intensified resulting in Eddie being rushed to Leighton Hospital on the insistence of his wife. Following an examination is was revealed that there was a severe problem with his aorta and he was subsequently transferred to the Royal Stoke University Hospital which has a specialised coronary unit. Upon arrival at the Hospital Eddie underwent an eight hour operation.

Speaking about the operation Eddie commented 'The way in which they worked was unbelievable as well as the speed that they got me into the operating theatre. There was a slim chance of me surviving this major operation and I am extremely grateful for their expertise and general care. Following this I wanted to do something to raise much needed funds for the Hospital. Foden's are the best band in the Country and the Choir are superb, the concert will be a great night of music making as well as raising funds for a fantastic cause.'

Tickets are £20 for the concert or £28 which includes a Coach from Sandbach. Tickets can be purchased via www.atgtickets/stoke or from the first floor desk in Sandbach Library on the second and fourth Wednesday or each month between 9.30am and 11.30am

For any conductor and every audience, Foden’s Band is a musical Magic Carpet. It continually takes the listener to places that few other ensembles rarely even approach Howard Snell
