GS4 10Foden's have announced that Solo Cornet player Andrew Stevenson has left Foden's to commence a career in the RAF. Over the past 3 years Andrew has been a fully committed member of Foden's whilst being a student at the RNCM. As well as his band duties Andrew has also made a name for himself as an up-and-coming composer, with Foden's recording a number of his compositions on various cds as well as performing his works in concerts.

In 2012 Andrew was appointed as the first ever Foden's Youth Band Composer-in-Residence. Both Foden's and Foden's Youth Bands have performed his original compositions over the past 3 years culminating in the world premiere of 'Tales of Myths and Legends' written for both Foden's and Foden's Youth Band to perform together in May 2015. We are extremely delighted to confirm that despite leaving Foden's as a player, Andrew has agreed to continue his composition work with the band.

Following Andrew's departure Foden's have announced the signing of Kathleen Gaspoz on Solo Cornet. Kathleen is a former Principal Cornet with the European Youth Band and National Youth Band of Switzerland and joins from the Valaisia Band who were the Swiss Open Champions in 2013.
Speaking about the signing Mark Wilkinson commented 'I have known Kathleen for a number of years who is regarded as one of the leading cornet players in Switzerland being a former triple Swiss Cornet Champion. When it became known that Kathleen would be moving to England to study for a Masters in Performance at the RNCM a number of leading Bands approached Kathleen for her services and we are extremely pleased that she chose to join Foden's. Kathleen is a very accomplished all round player and will be an excellent addition to the band.'
