The people who run the popular event ticketing website www.priorbooking.com have dropped everything to create a new website to try and help their teacher and musician friends who have been hit hard by the Covid-19 outbreak. Run by bandsmen, the company stopped all but essential work and rolled out the new website last week.

www.buyalesson.com is a website for teachers and musicians to list lessons by time and date. Players struck at home can book and pay for an online lesson at a scheduled time that suits them and the teacher. With some household high profile names listing lessons, there has never been a better time for a player to improve their skills by having some one-to-one tuition at home from some of the best educators in the banding world.

Commenting, Andy Devereux from the company said “As business owners we know how difficult times are right now. At the start of the lockdown, many of our friends were losing work as conductors, players and teachers so we decided to try and do something to help. This is a not-for-profit project, with only a nominal fee of 25p per lesson taken to help cover some of the costs of hosting, security and upkeep of the website”

Mark Wilkinson of Foden’s said ‘buyalesson has really helped to keep self-employed teachers and musicians like me working during a very difficult time. It has made the advertising, booking and payment of my lesson fees easy'.

www.buyalesson.com is a subsidiary of Priorbooking Ltd which is owned and run by Paul McDonald the long-time 2nd man down at Fodens and Andy Devereux, a freelance bass trombone player. For more information call 01332 477575 or email enquiries@buyalesson.com
