Foden's are delighted to have been invited once again to perform at the prestigious 'RNCM Brass Band Festival' in January 2018. The festival is regarded as one of the most important festivals of brass band music, often featuring new commissions, ground breaking performances of contemporary repertoire as well as classics of the brass band repertoire.
The RNCM Brass Band Festival is the only place to see all of Britain’s top brass bands in a non-competitive environment.
Foden's are looking forward to working with Dr James Gourlay who will travel from the USA to appear at the Festival.
Foden's programme celebrates 80 years since they won the 'Double Hatrick' at the National Finals with victories in 1932,33,34 and 36,37,38. The band will perform some test pieces from these victories, A Downland Suite (1932) and Kenilworth (1936). As part of a successful Arts Council application the late Derek Bourgeois composed 'Trials and Triumphs' to celebrate this unparalled victory.
Foden's will be conducted by Dr James Gourlay and Michael Fowles featuring soloists Gary Curtin and Mark Landon in the Concerto Grosso.
